Krystal Racing Space Air is pleased to announce Lee Jackson and Paul Veazey as team riders for 2007. Jackson has re-signed with the squad which took him to championship victory in 2005, while Veazey joins after two years on board a Kawasaki. This will be Jackson’s second full year with the Chesterfield-based outfit. He first joined the team towards the end of 2004, and remained for 2005 when he took the title at the final round at Brands Hatch.

After initially signing for another team last season, he returned to the family-run squad with four rounds of the championship remaining, scoring a hat-trick of podiums in the final three races.

Now the 31-year-old from Eagle Moor, Lincolnshire, is to spearhead Krystal Racing Space Air’s championship chase for 2007, and is going out with just one objective – to steal back his title.

“I’m thrilled to be back with Krystal for another season, they are a team I know and trust and I’m ready to come back in 2007 and win the championship,” he said. “I’ve written this year off as a bad experience, and I really wish I’d never left the team because I’m sure I could’ve had a better chance of defending my title if I’d stayed with Krystal and the Yamaha.

“But now I’m looking ahead to next season. I’m back being part of a small but very strong team and everything is looking good for 2007.”

Meanwhile 20-year-old Veazey from Middlesbrough, Teesside, joins the squad after two years riding Kawasakis. The youngster finished runner-up in the 2005 National Superstock Cup, narrowly missing out on the title, and graduated to the main championship for 2006.

After a difficult year, he has signed to partner Jackson in what will be the second time he has ridden a Yamaha in his racing career. “I rode an R6 a few years back but have only tested the R1 once, and that was at Croft with Krystal last summer,” he said.

“I’m really happy to have been given the chance to join Tony and the team. He’s been a big help and supported me for a number of years now, and to finally get the chance to ride one of the team’s bikes for a season is fantastic for me.

“The team is regarded as one of the strongest in the paddock, the results they scored with Lee speak for themselves, and I know this will be the best chance I’ve had to really do well and make a name for myself”.

Team Manager Tony Astle believes the pair will be a force to be reckoned with once the season gets underway. “I think we have got a very strong team, and between Lee and Paul we think we can be the best squad out there.

“We’re all very pleased that Lee has decided to come back on board and he is going out to win the championship next year. We all know together we can do it. Lee has proved he is the most consistent rider in the paddock and we are confident that by the end of the season he will have taken back the title.

“Paul will be a good team-mate to Lee. He’s still only 20 so he has a lot of years left in him yet, and his results last season improved week after week. He’s really looking forward to riding the Yamaha. He took it out in the summer and it gave him a great confidence boost, so we’re all looking forward to seeing how he gets on riding with us for 2007.”

The 2007 National Superstock Championship gets underway on April 7, 8 and 9 at Brands Hatch.
