Superstock at Snetterton we had a tough fight in qualifying where Brogan and Allan set off together with Marsha Neil between them for there fast lap all 3 slipstreamed together for the lap – Neil went Pole, Brogan 2nd 0.016 behind, Steve Allan lost 2/10th and ended up 14th with Lee in 13th. The Televised race saw Brogan doing a fantastic job at the front but the top speed of the opposition frustrated him into braking much later boiling his brakes and costing him the result. Allan went out with clutch failure and Lee went for a too soft front suspension costing him 7th but bringing it home in 10th, solid points.
We went to Donington with a complete new image and fantastic paint by Mick of Pro Paddock Paintwerx at Gainsborough who had turned our NVIDIA Green into a pearlescent. Qualifying went well considering we had very little track time with the Boy’s in 8th, 9th and 10th split by 0.014!
The race started differently for each of them with Brogan jumping forward Allan holding place and Jon Boy getting pushed right back. Brogan was the first to fall taking Marshall Neil with him at Melbourne then Jon Boy going down at the esses and off to the hospital, Steve Allan now 6th went down also at the esses – remounted to take 12th and the team were in deep depression.
In the 2nd race Jon Boy was out, though he’ll be back for Knockhill. Brogan again made the start and again boiled his brakes to failure and needs to address this before the next race.
Steve Allan had a flyer of a start; put together another point finish as second Yamaha home, but the full potential of the Team was again dashed here by the riders.
We are extremely disappointed at the moment, knowing the immense capabilities of the riders and team, to not be showing the results we should. The focus from a team perspective is now moving towards a concerted effort to get the riders onto the kind of form we all know they are capable of, without silly mistakes!…this is involving more planning and strategizing as a team before and during meetings (the results are already showing themselves in the particularly close qualification times of the boys) as well as trying to capitalize on the strengths of both riders and bikes.
In short, we need to race with our heads, and above all, finish races….To finish first, first you must finish!
GP 125: Lisa had a very good weekend at Snetterton tempered with a few small bike problems, She Qualified well and made her best start yet. The fun in the race was had on pit wall as we all watched her in a great battle. Everyone of the Team was jumping up and down as a group of 7 changed places on every bend. Lisa broke free and started to chase the group in front closing at over a second a lap to grab hold by the flag. Her best performance so far without any doubt!
