Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) scored a stunning podium finish of third after a tough practice and qualifying period at Brno, earning his 16 points after overtaking two riders on the very last lap, just as another two leading riders fell. Brno was Foret’s fourth podium of the season, and keeps him in second place overall, with a total of 116 points, 70 down on Kenan Sofuoglu’s 186 with four rounds remaining.
Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) was classified 25th, a disappointing finish to a particularly hard weekend for the popular and experienced Spanish rider, who found little confidence in the front end of his machine even on raceday. Riba is now 16th overall, on 30 points.
Fabien Foret: “I am OK with third place. The tyre was not the problem but I had a little problem with the bike setting. All weekend it has been hard for me to find the right set-up. Every race we are improving the bike but it is hard to say how much better we can make it from now to the end. I think we need more torque maybe and this weekend it was difficult.”
Pere Riba: “I have not been very confident with the set-up this weekend and if I pushed more I felt I would crash for sure. It has been a hard weekend from the start, but sometimes that is racing.”
