Stefan Nebel (Lightspeed Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) battled to be fit to race at Magny-Cours, after a massive crash in the previous round on spilled oil, and then battled to score the last point on offer. A battered and bruised Nebel made a strong push for a points scoring finish, but ended his day 16th, after qualifying 21st. he experienced issues with his gearing that had not raised their heads until raceday.

Nebel ends the season with a single point, earned in his first ride on the machine at Eurospeedway Lausitz.

Stefan Nebel:

“A very busy race. I tried hard to pass the rider in front but although in practice my gearing was perfect, with a good slipstream in the race my gearing was a little bit too short. I was losing lots of time in the straights. I could make it up in the braking area, but not enough to pass him. There were two parts of the track I was faster but they were the wrong parts to pass on! I was really desperate to get the point, because that’s why everyone turns up and works so hard, to score points. But this was only my third race.”
