Dutch exhaust specialists BOS have developed a stunning street-legal silencer for the Triumph Speed Triple that is nearly half the weight of the factory fitted units. Available in either aluminium or carbon fibre, the BOS silencers weigh 5KG and 5.3 KG respectively for the pair, which is between 49% and 46% lighter than the stock items. Yet they are e-marked for road use and close inspection reveals that quality has not been compromised.

BOS have introduced a new conical shaped link on their slip-on silencers that connects to the BOS adapter pipe for a tidy and simple fit. The tail pipes are specially TIG welded and all the fittings are made of stainless steel, which is highly polished by hand. BOS do not use a strap to fix their silencers to the bike’s mounting points, instead they bolt on via brackets at the back, for a really neat finish.

All BOS exhausts are specifically designed for individual makes and models of motorcycle, so owners can expect a modest power increase without the need for re-mapping. Noise levels are restricted thanks to the db eater, which can be removed for track use. Riders looking to enhance the looks of their machine over the long term could invest in the large diameter hand polished 50.8 mm stainless steel adapter pipe, which runs from below the engine right up to the silencers themselves.

The BOS silencers for the Triumph Speed Triple retail for £575 in carbon or £425 in aluminium. The stainless steel adapter unit costs £175.00. You can contact 0800 369 537 for details of your nearest dealer or visit the BOS link below.

Notes: Service kits are available at £29.99. Warranty is 12 months.
