Series leader Dominic Lammert led the way in the 2007 Suzuki GSX-R European Cups first qualifying session at Silverstone today. The young German posted a lap of 1:31.616, a tenth of a second quicker then his nearest rival Ian Lowry - a wild card from Great Britain. Third quickest was Swiss rider Patric Muff, with Italian Simone Saltarelli fourth.

In fact, my feeling today is not so good - probably because the track feels quite bumpy and slippery. I dont know if it is slippery because of the rain earlier in the day or because of oil dumped on the track after crashes. I think I have found a good setting for my bike after we altered the balance a little. I know I am quite good in the last section of the track but not so good in the first sector so thats what Ill try and improve on tomorrow. It is a difficult track to learn because there are some very fast corners and you need to know what you are doing, but its not as much fun as some other circuits. However, it is a good track for overtaking and I am sure it will be a good race for the fans.

Circuit: 3.561 miles
Conditions: Dry, sunny/cloudy
