As part of the BSB season-ending festivities at Brands Hatch at the end of the month, the latest attraction for the hordes of fans expected to descend on the Kent circuit that weekend is the inaugural ‘Fred & Scoop’ Charity Chat Show which takes place on the evening of Friday 29th September and will feature a number of top riders from the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
Taking place at the Brands Hatch Thistle Hotel (adjacent to the main entrance) race fans can come along and meet some of the heroes of the track in the show which gets underway at 7.45pm.
Two of the main protagonists for the crown have confirmed they will be on stage in the shape of Airwaves Ducati rider Leon Haslam and HM Plant Honda counterpart Ryuichi Kiyonari with fellow factory Honda star Karl Harris and Virgin Mobile Yamaha ace Tommy Hill also in attendance.
A number of other top riders are expected to call in including Championship leader Gregorio Lavilla as well as rookie of the year Jonathan Rea meaning a memorable night is in store before the riders do battle over the weekend.
What’s more, BSB’s 'adopted' charity, the Chris Jones Memorial Fund, is set to benefit from the chat show and the organisers are hoping to make another sizable donation in the quest to provide a portable X-Ray machine for use by the resident BSB medical team.
Commenting on the show, BSB Series Commentator Fred Clarke, who will host the evening alongside his sidekick Larry ‘Scoop’ Carter said: “This is something we’ve been thinking about for a while and if it’s a success then we hope to organise a few more similar shows at race meetings during 2007 to help the wonderful cause that is the CJMF. It’s going to be fun and my advice is to get there early if nothing else other than to hear Scoop practicing his Japanese for when he interviews Kiyo!”
Admission (on the door only) is just £8.00 per adult with accompanied children under 16 costing £2.00 and there will be a free draw to win some memorabilia which will be announced on the night.
