JiR (Japan Italy Racing) extends the collaboration agreement with Konica Minolta Holdings, INC. and strengthens its structure to further develop the commercial activities linked to the Konica Minolta Honda brand and to be among the leading protagonists of MotoGP.
The final rush of the exciting and hard-fought 2006 MotoGP World Championship represents an important moment for the strategies outlined by Manufacturers and Teams for the coming season and offers a good occasion to announce the future of the Konica Minolta Honda Team, still on track for the Top category in 2007.
The Konica Minolta Honda Team, established in 2005 with the firm will and intuition of JiR, is the result of an ambitious and greatly innovative sporting and commercial project, created with the clear target to differentiate JiR from what developed by the rest of competitors present in the same category.
The basic characteristic is to have involved in the racing motor sport Konica Minolta Holdings, INC. which has always believed in MotoGP as an important tool to further spread its brand in a global catchment area.
The results of the first two years of activity reached the fixed targets: to further spread the Konica Minolta brand in different sectors and activate the branches to define the numerous and attractive communication possibilities offered by MotoGP following the different countries needs.
The enthusiasm this experience aroused and the results obtained convinced the Japanese Headquarters to confirm its engagement in the sport activity in 2007. The Konica Minolta Honda Team will be on track again with two goals: the achievement of prestigious sporting results and the creation of synergies in all those commercial activities dedicated to the Konica Minolta Honda brand.
Gianluca Montiron – Konica Minolta Honda General Director“I’m extremely satisfied with the gratitude and the renewed confidence Konica Minolta and Honda demonstrated towards the Team I manage. I’m sure the prosecution of the medium-long term programme which unites the two multinationals will bring the results we all strive for. Now, we will enter the second phase of our working programme and I can affirm that one of the targets is to obtain the sporting results that are usually associated to us: most of our efforts will be focused on this end.
As much energy will be used to implement the Konica Minolta investment in MotoGP. The market globalization strategies changed and I think that, thanks to our Team, the Japanese multinational can continue to enjoy good opportunities to share direct and advantageous dialogues with their own customers but also with a wider target ranging from companies to professionals and with a particular care to the new generation.
The Team confirmed the Title Sponsor for the 2007 season while no decision has yet been taken regarding the rider. It will be taken only after the last race of the Championship.”
JiR has already defined the future of the relationship with the present Sponsors, whilst next year preparations will start in November when JiR organization will be further reinforced to create and better manage commercial opportunities agreed with each Sponsor.
The Company, in fact, will create different divisions and strengthen those already existing. These divisions will be in charge of managing the Konica Minolta Honda Team sporting activity as well as promotional, marketing and communication activities. JiR’s efforts will be also directed towards the “Engineering Division”, another important element for the Company, manufacturing high performance components for the sporting use of street and off-road machines.
All above mentioned divisions will obviously have a sole, great “common denominator”: the sporting activity lived with passion, enthusiasm and competence.
