Scottoiler plan to launch their newest product to the UK motorcycle market in January at the Motorcycle Trade Expo at the NEC. The new chain oiling system is still a closely guarded secret and is being kept under wraps until release in January. What we can tell you is that the product has been tested by the triple world championship winning Phase One Endurance team throughout the season and is going to be aimed at the sports bike rider.
The new product launch marks 25 years since the release of the original Scottoiler back in 1983, in which time the product has seen over 200 technical improvements and the company has grown to employ 21 people.
Over those 25 years the following has been achieved:
- The company has saved customers approximately £5.9m in fuel costs as a result of the improved running efficiency of bikes fitted with a Scottoiler
- Scottoiler customers have travelled over 2,252 million miles - an equivalent distance of more than 90 thousand times around the world!
- Approximately 0.7% of motorcycles in the global marketplace are fitted with a Scottoiler.
- The Scottoiler system can increase top end power output by up to 5bhp.
The benefits don’t stop there either. Where the Scottoiler system really comes into its own is in the long term. What short run dyno tests don’t show is how the difference in power, efficiency and speed continue to diverge the longer the distance travelled. Russell Benney, Phase One Endurance Team Manager, puts it best:
“With conventional chain lube at the beginning of a race you always have too much and for the remainder of the race you don’t have enough. With a Scottoiler system this is never a problem, you always have the correct amount of lubrication for the duration of the race.”
Phase One Endurance recently finished in 9th place at the QMMF Endurance FIM World Championship round at Qatar. Unfortunately the team were skittled out of first place early on in the race but managed to pull themselves back up to 9th place in less than 8 hours with their remaining 2 riders and a very crooked bike – an amazing achievement! This result from the final round of the season gave the team a final overall WEC standing of 6th position. Scottoiler would like to extend their congratulations to the team.
All Scottoiler customers are invited to visit their stand at the Motorcycle Trade Expo - they will be in position 712.
Expo opening hours are:
- Sunday 20th January: 09:30 - 17:30
- Monday 21st January: 09:30 - 19:00
