The seventh round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup was a special one for Xavier Siméon; not only did he take his maiden victory in the series, but he also became the youngest all-time winner in the class. It goes without saying that the Belgian rider will now be going to the famous Brands Hatch racetrack full of confidence. In front of an expected crowd of more than 100.000 excited fans, Francis Batta’s protégé is hoping to capitalise on his good form and take another podium at one of the world’s most beautiful circuits. Currently third in the standings and within 25 points (a victory) of the top spot, Xavier knows that this weekend’s race might be a turning point in the championship. Nevertheless, the Belgian rider remains cool-headed and confident that his streak of good results won’t be interrupted in Brands Hatch.

Xavier

“I’m in great shape – both physically and mentally! I have prepared myself in the best possible way for this race and I know I can do something. I just love Brands Hatch. The bike works well on technical racetracks, such as Brands, so it should be OK for me and my team. It took us a few races to really master the bike, but now that we really know what we are dealing with, we can easily adapt it and ourselves to a changing situation. This is good for my confidence. I’m not thinking too much about the championship but, if I get a good result here, I will have to start thinking about it. But this weekend, I want to have fun and take a win more than anything!”
