12th July 2006, Milan (Italy) – The development teams of the Superbike and Supersport World Championship are going to Lausitz this weekend to test many interesting new solutions brought by Pirelli. The test will take place on the 15th, 16th and 17th on the Lausitzring circuit, where many WSBK riders raced last season for the first time as the Championship came back after a 3 years stop.
In a difficult weekend, with changing weather conditions, Lorenzo Lanzi was the man of the day, substituting an injured Regis Laconi on the Official Ducati bike. Lorenzo scored the Pole Position with a Superpole lap of 1’39.019, and after a great but unlucky Race1 he won Race 2.
This season the records seem to be done for being beated, let’s see if it will happen again thanks to the new solutions that riders will test this time. Pirelli is going to present 10 new front tyres and 12 rear tyres (including also qualifying) for the SBK teams, while the Supersport riders will go on testing the brand new Diablo Supercorsa, used at Misano for the first time in race and immediately liked by the whole grid.
In Supersport we will see riding again Sebastian Charpentier, currently leading the Championship, and another development team is joining the games, while the Kawasaki Gil Motor Sport team will be missing Chambon.
Suzuki will be represented by the team Hoegee, for the first time involved in the Pirelli testing activity.
