On Sunday 2 December, hot on the heels of Long Way Down, a brand new gripping motorcycle adventure travel series, ‘The Ride’, will roar into your living room on the world’s leading documentary channel, The National Geographic Channel.

Two times Guinness World Record Holders and motorcycle endurance riders Kevin and Julia Sanders are no strangers to adventure. Now they have taken on a new challenge to lead a team of 11 novice motorcyclists on a truly epic expedition down the Pan American Highway.

Julia and Kevin run GlobeBusters, a specialist long distance motorcycle overland travel company, which specialises in taking motorcyclists on fantastic once in a lifetime journeys all over the world. In addition to this the couple are also known for their BMW Rider Training facility in south Wales, where the couple tutor learner riders all the way from CBT through to full licenses, and even up to an advanced RoSPA level.

“The Ride – Alaska to Patagonia” chronicles the five month extraordinary journey of 11 ordinary British bikers down the Pan American Highway.  A builder, chef, engineer, banker, car mechanic and IT consultant are all part of this unlikely band of modern day adventurers, led by motorcycle Guinness World Record Holders, Kevin and Julia Sanders, as they ride over 20,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina.

The trip is caught magnificently as it happens by a one man camera crew from Cambridge Film & Television. This inspirational, tragic, funny and sometimes harrowing series follows the team’s trials and tribulations. The series sees the group through some of the most magnificent, dramatic and challenging terrains in the world, as they breakdown mechanically, physically and emotionally to complete the ride of their lives.

Switch on to The National Geographic Channel on Sunday 2 December, 9 December and 16 December at 6pm to see double episodes of their epic journey.

Great show, much better than Long Way Down. These bikers don't stay in hotels and don't mone about dirt tracks. Worth watching.

Looks very good. It seems to have a lot of buzz about it. Missed it last night but hopefully we'll have it repeatable.
