A few days from the last test of the Absolute Championships of Italy of Bobbio (PC), Franco Mayr, owner and manager of the Team Honda-HM Zanardo, is pleased to announce the renovation of the accord with the finnish Mika Ahola for the next season. The 2008 programmes see therefore the reengagement in the team of the world champion of the E2 class.
Franco MayrI am happy to announce that next year Mika Ahola will be again one of our riders. We have not decided yet if he will race for defending the title of the E2 class or if he will pass to the E1 class. With Mika, we give continuity to our project in the respect of a tradition that has always countersigned us: have riders of great talent and bring them to the success. We have already done it in all these years, bringing to the victory champion as Stefan Merriman, Giorgio Grasso, Gianmarco Rossi, Pierfranco Muraglia and others. I believe in the potentialities of Mika and he has already shown it winning this year the title of the E2 class. I thank all the firms that this year has given us their contribution and particularly the support that Honda Europe will give us in 2008.
Mika AholaI am really happy to have renewed for 2008 my accord with the team to which I am tied up by now from two seasons. I am sure to have done the best choice in the correct moment. I believe a lot in this team, directed by Franco Mayr, and in the job of all the technicians. In these years the team has shown to be a top team that doesn't have anything to envy to the official super teams. I believe that the correct moment has arrived to practice even more the experience matured in these last two years passed with the Honda-HM-Zanardo team and it will be the first step to make a further footstep in the future. I feel me grown but I don't pay of the title won this year.
