Newly-crowned AMA Motocross Champion Ricky Carmichael raced his RM-Z450 to two straight race wins at the weekend’s 11th round at Steel City Raceway near Delmont in Pennsylvania as his Makita Suzuki team mate Broc Hepler dominated the Lites class. Carmichael, who clinched his 10th AMA Motocross Championship at the last round in New York, won effortless on a track that had been soaked the previous day by a rain storm, taking his 70th AMA Motocross overall win – an AMA record.

"It's been amazing and I appreciate everything that's happened in my career," said Carmichael, who made his professional debut at Steel City Raceway in 1996. "I've been so busy throughout out my career and pulled at all angles, but now I can look back and really enjoy what I've accomplished."

Hepler, from nearby Kittanning, continued his winning ways with a crowd-pleasing moto sweep ahead of Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto.
