The qualifying practice day of the German Grand Prix ended with a decisive improvement in the weather conditions. This afternoon, riders could turn with the same temperature level, over 40°C, which, probably, will find tomorrow. Konica Minolta Honda Team racer had a better performance with the race setting, remaining in tenth position of the starting grid. Today Makoto Tamada covered a total of 61 laps setting the fastest lap time of 1’22.866”.
Tomorrow, the tenth round of the season will start at 12.30hrs, one hour and a half in advance on the usual schedule.
Gianluca Montiron – Konica Minolta Honda General Director “Today’s qualifying test was really hard fighted especially in the last laps and the reached competitiveness level is definitely high considering that we will start from the tenth place in front of the present World MotoGP Championship. With a good start, tomorrow we could expect to be part of the riders setting the rhythm to be kept. I think for Makoto it will be fundamental to remain in this group to have a good performance starting from the first laps. From what we saw today, in fact, we could be able to be more competitive with the race setting and this would allow us to end the thirty laps in a satisfying way.”

I’m satisfied with the front tyre whilst tomorrow morning we will have to finish the last test on the rear tyre as the weather conditions absolutely improved today afternoon and we will have to race with high temperatures.
With a good start, I can race well because today I saw I can turn with a good pace.”
