Shell Lubricants has launched a new online tool – Shell LubeMatch – to help customers match their vehicles and engines to the correct lubricants, whether in the commercial vehicle, bus and coach, industrial or off-road sectors.
“A lot of this information has been previously available in data books, but this remarkable new tool gives customers instant access to a huge amount of data on engines, lubricants and oils to check they have the right specification for each application, wherever they are,” explained Andrew Gibson, UK Marketing Manager for Shell Lubricants.
The site –
www.shell.co.uk/lubematch - is simple to use with drop down menus to provide recommendations for the right oils and greases in seconds. Easy to navigate icons on the homepage take users to the seven different categories:
Motorbike; car; bus & coach; commercial vehicle; agricultural; off-road; and industrial.
“Each category has many different manufacturers and variants, so we wanted to make navigation as straightforward as possible,” added Gibson.
The fact that the information is now stored electronically also means that Shell can instantly update information with new products, specifications and changes in applications.
Visitors to the site can view or print a detailed lubricants recommendation chart for each application after answering a few simple questions. The site covers both commercial and passenger vehicles as well as industrial applications, so will be particularly useful for companies with multiple equipment and applications.
