The motorcycle division of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd., Avon Motorcycle Tyres, is delighted to announce that Performance PR will be responsible for raising the profile of the company and handling all media enquiries with immediate effect.
This move aims to mirror the success that the Avon brand and Performance PR already enjoy across the tyre firm’s four-wheel interests. For the last two years the automotive and motorsports specialist PR agency has raised the awareness of the Avon and Cooper brands on everything from car and 4x4 road tyres to their title sponsored British GT championship, Formula 3 and A1 GP motor sport involvements.
“These are exciting times for our motorcycle division,” says Avon Tyres marketing communications manager, Sarah McRoberts. “The recent STORM sports touring tyre is receiving glowing praise and sales successes. With exciting new products due this year and Performance PR onboard, we’re sure that Avon will be at the forefront of motorcyclist’s minds.
Though Performance PR (PPR) predominantly works on four wheel brands, such as BMW, Citroen, Caterham and Mini, their new two-wheel division is already enjoying a fruitful start. Their media activities helped the 2007 MCN London Motorcycle Show to one of its most successful years and have been appointed to promote Nexx open-face helmets, distributed by Oxford Products.
After seven years with Emap Automotive, former Bike and Performance Bikes journalist, Luke Brackenbury, joins Kingston upon Thames-based PPR to help service the Avon account. Luke’s experience and knowledge of the industry will no doubt help to make sure that Avon’s products are firmly on the radar of the motorcycle media.
Avon Motorcycle Tyres would like to take the opportunity to thank Clive Jones of Intamoto for his sterling work over the past five years and wish him well for the future.
