As part of his steep learning process in the Superstock 1000 class, Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Xavier Siméon took a well-deserved fifth place in the third race of the championship at the legendary Monza circuit - his best result of the season so far . It now seems that “Xav”, after a difficult start, is finally starting to find his rhythm and getting to grips with his powerful Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K7. After an good race weekend on the Italian circuit, Xavier is travelling to Silverstone hoping to perform just as well as in Monza. Such a performance is all the more likely since Xavier likes the British racetrack and the sometimes difficult weather conditions. Besides, with rain expected to make a few appearances during the weekend, Xavier could well be in his element and create a stir that would allow him to move up a few places in the championship's standings.

“I felt a bit uncertain before Monza, but this time it will be a completely different story. I raced well in Monza and this made me realise I don't need much more to be able to mix it with the leaders. The Silverstone track is one I like, and is one that favours my riding style. I feel a lot more comfortable with my Suzuki now that I have learned to adapt to it and not the other way round! I also heard it might rain a little this weekend. That's great news for me because I like it when things get a little bit slippery. But at this level, all riders are impressive in wet conditions, so it is not going to be easy. My main objective is to well in qualifying and keep a consistent pace throughout Sunday's race. It’s my best chance of finishing high up in the rankings and I intend to grab it.”
