Motor enthusiasts visiting the Canary Wharf Motorexpo next week will have the chance to see BMW Motorrad UK's Race to Dakar bike on display. The heavily-modified F 650 GS bike was ridden by the Race to Dakar team in their attempt to complete the 2006 Euromilhões Lisbon to Dakar Rally.

The 2006 Race to Dakar team consisted of six-times Dakar rally competitor and BMW Motorrad Off-Road Skills Chief Instructor, Simon Pavey, debut Dakar racer and actor Charley Boorman and experienced off-road rider and official Race to Dakar cameraman Matt Hall. Simon Pavey was one of the lucky ones to finish the race and crossed the line in an impressive 86th position. His BMW team-mates of Charley Boorman and Matt Hall were forced to withdraw during the event due to injury and sheer exhaustion.

Entry into the 11th annual Canary Wharf Motorexpo is free-of-charge. Last year's show saw 300,000 people visit the 97-acre site to view all the latest developments in the car and motorcycle industries. For more information on the show visit the link below.
