A driver has been arrested after a car and a motorcycle crashed in West Sussex, killing the bike rider.

The victim, a 60-year-old man from Horley, Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the A272 at Coneyhurst, near Billingshurst.

His BMW motorbike and the Mercedes car collided at the road's junction with Old House Lane.

Sussex Police said the driver was arrested following the crash at about 2030 BST on Tuesday.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident - if you have any information please report it directly to Sussex Police by calling 0845 60 70 999.
