The ever-improving Davide Giugliano (Lightspeed Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) used updates in his rear suspension set-up to help him score points at Valencia, in only his fourth WSS race on his new machine. Once more in a World Supersport weekend weather conditions played a hand in proceedings, with Giugliano not being able to get in as many dry laps as he would like, and yet still being able to set good times for most of the race.
When his rear traction started to reduce, he was forced back out of the top ten, but 12th was a more than respectable finish in a race with 34 starting riders and 26 finishers. Giugliano is now 15th in the World Championship, with 14 points.
Davide Giugliano: “This race was very difficult for me because in two days we have only had really only run on a wet circuit in practice, and only one practice was dry. Valencia is not a circuit for me today, but I am happy that in the fight during the race I rode well, until the rear traction went down. I hope in Assen to make a good race because the bike is good, especially the engine, and the new rear suspension we had here worked very well.”
