The Airwaves Ducati riders will be looking to secure valuable championship points this weekend on their second visit of the year to Oulton Park. When they raced at the Cheshire circuit in May the team secured their first one-two of the 2007 season and since joining GSE Racing in 2005 Gregorio Lavilla and Leon Haslam have achieved 13 podium finishes between them at the technically challenging 2.692 mile circuit.

Gregorio Lavilla slipped to 3rd in the championship rankings after a tough weekend at Knockhill but having won the first race at Oulton Park in round 4 of this year’s championship, he is confident for a good result this weekend.

“I knew Knockhill would be a difficult race for me and obviously I was disappointed with my result there but it will not affect how I approach this weekend; I concentrate on each race as it comes and try to put in the best performance that I can. I am looking forward to Oulton Park this weekend, we have had a good couple of days testing since the last race and as long as we keep working and improving through practice and qualifying then I think we can be confident for some good racing on Sunday.”

Leon Haslam secured solid results at the previous two rounds in Scotland and Ireland and is hoping to continue his good form at this, one of his more favoured circuits.

“I am looking forward to racing at Oulton Park; we achieved a one-two finish there earlier this year and since Knockhill we have completed a 2 day test at Croft where we worked on a number of things on the bike which could be very useful this weekend. I am confident for a good performance, I will definitely be aiming for podium place finishes and possibly another win.”

Round 8 of the Bennetts British Superbike championship takes place on Sunday 15th July 2007.
