Road Angel Group, manufacturers of renowned motorcycle tracking device, Bike Trac, has announced record first half year results for the innovative security product, smashing both its own sales and recovery figures for the first six months of 2014.

Introduced in 2009, Bike Trac has steadily grown to become the leading motorcycle-specific tracking device, culminating in the award of both Thatcham Category 6 and 7 ratings in 2013. In the first half of this year, Bike Trac devices recovered over £300,000 worth of stolen machines, while sales for the British built device in the first six-months are up 15% on a record 2013 too.

Bike Trac's Carys Seabourne, commented

"Naturally we're delighted to be seeing positive moves both in terms of sales and recoveries. While we've been pioneering this technology for motorcycles for some time, 2013 certainly seemed to be the year when this technology caught the attention of bikers in general.

"Certainly high profile recoveries, like our success with a stolen Ducati from London to Lithuania have helped, but it's been encouraging to see the insurance industry get behind tracking too, with insurance discounts from many and affiliations with manufacturer-run schemes too, like Ducati and BMW."

With over 30 successful recoveries in the first half of 2014, Bike Trac has now recovered a staggering £1.2m worth of machinery since conception, with updates reported sometimes hourly via its Facebook page.

Les Bacon of Bacon's Motorcycles in Essex was a recent victim of bike theft when his Kawasaki demonstrator went missing from his showroom in May.

"When I realised that our ZX-6R demonstrator had been stolen I was obviously very annoyed, but interested to see how effective the Bike Trac unit that was fitted would be", commented Les. "My intrigue didn't last long, as the guys got it back in less than 45 minutes. As a result I recommend them to every customer now."

As well as the many high-profile recoveries, Bike Trac also supports many charity rides and challenges with its tracking technology that can be shared online too.
