MotoGP Stars Head For Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show
The UK has not had such a strong line-up of home-grown talent in Grand Prix racing since the days of Barry Sheene, and Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith will be flying in from pre-season testing at Sepang to meet fans on Friday 14th. Both riders will be taking part in a special announcement on the BTSport sponsored Sports and Performance stage at 12.30, as well as making further appearances throughout the day on both BTSport and manufacturer stands.
The Show’s opening day is now dubbed Foggy Friday as fans will be able to see four time World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty, one of the most successful British motorcycle racers of all-time, officially launch the event. He will then be on hand to keep the crowd entertained throughout the day with on-stage interviews and autograph sessions. The Show will also mark the first time ‘King Carl’ will be reunited with each of his Championship winning machines outside of the Ducati Factory museum in Bologna.
Alongside all of the latest models from the likes of BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Royal Enfield, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha will be over 130 trade exhibitors showcasing their 2014 product range and offering exclusive bargains to Show visitors.
The free Revolution live action show will be returning once again and visitors will be able to see Isle of Man TT legends swap their 200mph Superbikes for pit bikes as they do battle over indoor obstacles with inevitable results! Riders include John McGuinness who will be heading one team, 2013 TT sensation Michael Dunlop, who is captain of the opposing group and former racer and TV pundit James Whitham, British Superbike and TT star Michael Rutter, eleven time TT winner Phillip McCallen and following his recent victorious comeback at the Macau Grand Prix, Ian Hutchinson, who remains the only man to win all five TT races in a week.
Race fans will be well catered for throughout the weekend with the show playing host to the official unveiling of the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki ZX-10R that Shane Byrne and Stuart Easton will contest in this year’s British Superbike Championship whilst there will also be a world exclusive tribute to Mike ‘the bike’ Hailwood. Considered by many to be the greatest motorcycle racer of all time, the Show will display his bikes, trophies, clothing, and the Ford GT40 sports car he raced. The show will also mark the much anticipated announcement of the commentary team for the new BT Sport MotoGP coverage.
Custom motorcycle fans will be able to see the first ever London Custom Bike Championship, which will have over 50 of Europe’s finest bike builders descending upon on London to compete for a £10,000 prize fund. Meet world famous adventurers including Nick Saunders, Simon Pavey, Austin Vince, Charley Boorman, Graham Hoskins and Steph Jeavons, who is about to embark on a record breaking solo, two-year, six continent global tour.
The long Way Round star Charlie Boorman will also be in attendance at the show on the tenth anniversary of his captivating television show. Fans will be able to see the motorcycles he used for the Long Way Round, Race to Dakar and Long Way Down.
Harley-Davidson will be customising two lucky riders machines live on their stand in a My Dream Harley competition!
