A Heads-Up From Ace Cafe About Police Crackdown
Groups of individuals causing Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) can now be dispersed by police constables and police community support officers (PCSOs).
The dispersal order, introduced 00:00 hours on 4th July 2013, will run until 23:59 hours 3rd January 2014.
Residents and business owners in both Ealing and Brent complained of large groups gathering in Rainsford Road and surrounding roads. This order was obtained due to persistent anti-social behaviour caused by groups who travelled to the area on foot, on motorcycles and in cars. Crowds which gather in the area actively encourage anti-social riding and driving and their presence is intimidating for both residents and the staff of local businesses.
Groups of individuals causing anti social behaviour in the dispersal area will be instructed to leave and not return for a period of 24 hours. If they return and continue to cause problems, they can be arrested.
Anyone found guilty of contravening a direction under a dispersal order can face up to three months imprisonment or a fine of up to £2,500.
Police and PCSOs will regularly police the dispersal areas throughout the period of the dispersal notice.
Leaflets will be distributed to residents and local businesses in the area and a map of the dispersal zone is displayed in the area, to include at Ace Cafe London. Victims and witnesses are encouraged to report anti-social behaviour.
