LB has just thrown their first ever official bash; The Christmas Party, held in the West End on the 10th of December, 2005. About fifty members attended over the course of the evening, either to meet existing friends and have a great time, put faces to names on the site, or even just to make new friends. Our Technical Safety Partners, Adrenalin X were present to sponsor the Awards and provide raffle prizes.

The evening kicked off at around 6.30pm, after a few members started showing up. The underground and traffic was mayhem in the West End, which delayed quite a few people on their way to the venue. By 7pm the place started to fill up, it was really great being able to see the community come together and get to know each other in the flesh. Everyone was laughing and chatting, introducing themselves and finding out who was who on the site. At 8pm, the party was in full flow, with LB member, DJ Jason spinning the tunes and getting everyone in the party mood.

Then the buffet was served, the food looked and tasted amazing, and for the next hour the food was being bought through in waves every ten minutes, each time offering something else new and interesting to try on the taste buds. It was all very enjoyable and we’re sure that it was to everyone’s taste!

Next on the agenda for the evening were the LB Awards, sponsored by AdrenalinX. These were the award winners, though unfortunately not everyone was there to receive their award. (PM Foxy with your postal addresses, so that these can be sent out to you)

LB Crime Fighter: GSXR Rocker

For foiling the theft of a motorcycle from the owners garage by four thieves in a van, and getting the bike returned to the owner. London may be a big place, and often people don't go out of their way to help others, but that's where the LB community is so different, we're out there for each other. Well done Rocker!

Best Collaborator: Tony ZRX

For helping provide LB with vital professional and legal advice, to allow us to plan wonderful things for everyone. Without his help, we wouldn't have been able to plan so well for the future and might not be in a position to be the best biking community.

LB Life Saver: Karl (SOS)

Karl has helped innumerable members of the community with their mechanical and pedestrian troubles. He's helped recover and fix so many bikes that without his help, many of us would have been up the creek without a paddle, or broke. Karl, your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we're so very proud to have you in the LB community!

Most Traveled Member: Matt

Matt has been our roaming photographer, pit-lane monkey and general GP tart. He's traveled to far-flung corners of the world to various racing events, including the first Shanghai MotoGP event where he worked in the pit-lane, and most recently to the Macau GP where he was also working with a race team. We hope he can continue to promote the LB name around the world next year!

Best Joker: BabyJ

Regular wind-up merchant, BabyJ, has proved himself as a funny face of LB, mainly in person with his invitations to the Great Portland St Infinity store he pretends to work in, and occasionally on the site. Keep up the good work BabyJ.

Most Posts: Andrew&7

Andrew has been the most active member on the site, sharing his witty retorts and photo journals of his travels around the world. Always dependable to add a northerner perspective to any discussions going on, we welcome his contributions!

Best Crasher: Ghostie

Resident stunter, Ghostie wins this award for crashing the most number of times, and in the maximum amount of style. He's a regular entertainer and never ceases to amaze people with his unique, lanky style. How many bikes have you crashed this year, Ghostie?

Best Bike: Leggy Pete

Pete has built the best members bike, which he affectionately calls Stealth, a GSXR K5 1000 in all-black. He's shown considerable attention to detail and gone out of his way to add personal touches, such as powder-coating of items that would normally be left as standard. He's also helped to contribute to the community by pointing out deals to be had to other members.

Newcomer With Most Input: Paivi

This award goes to Paivi for making the most difference to the community as a newcomer. She's opened up interest from the typical higher-powered bikes to scooters and the city lifestyle that these types of bikes cater for. Paivi's input has brought a balanced view to discussions on the site, and we're glad to have her with us!

After the awards, the Adrenalin X raffle was drawn. Everyone there got given a ticket, if their number was called out; they won a free gift that had been very kindly donated by Adrenalin X. Chris from AX was present to call out the numbers for the lucky fifteen members. Well done to all of you that won the T-Shirts, knee sliders, baseball caps and other goodies. Massive thanks to Adrenalin X for turning up, (even after your long delay on the Southeast train service) and also for the give-aways to our members.

The night carried on with lots of laughter, plenty of drink and lots of silly goings on. Timmy we would like to thank you on behalf on EVERYONE for being our entertainment for the evening. You should have got your own award for getting the most pissed. A real good time was had by everyone who came along, and we're left excited about organising the next set of LB events. Thanks to everyone that came along, it's nice to get away from the bikes once in a while and enjoy ourselves as regular folk. See you all at the next one! Well done to the award and prize winners, we hope this will be the first of many give-aways.
