Michael Hill and his TABOO Motorsport / KMS team have wrapped up the 2006 British 125 GP Championship in 23rd place – a result that they are pleased with. “It really has been an eventful season,” said Hill, “I’ve scored points in five races and I am happy with how I raced this year.” The high point of the year was at Donington Park where, despite treacherous conditions, Hill finished in eighth place.
His second best finish was a twelfth at Croft which was important to Hill as it was his home round. “I had a lot of friends and family at Croft and it wasn’t the best of conditions,” he commented, “I really wanted a good result for my family as they had come along to support me and also for Pete Banks who has done an excellent job all season on helping me to progress.”
Both rounds of Oulton Park yielded points due to Hill finishing both races in 14th place. He also scored points during race number two at Mallory Park by securing 15th place.
“The final round at Brands Hatch didn’t go according to plan” said Hill, “I don’t want to dwell on it as I feel we have had a productive year and 2007 is going to be even better! None of the results would have been possible without all the support that I have received this year so a big thank you to everyone that has assisted and believed in me”
Michael’s season doesn’t end here though. He will make the journey to the final World Superbike event in France this coming weekend to again work as a pit lane commentator / reporter for international website www.superbike-news.com
Then begins the preparation for 2007 which will see Michael continue to race in the British 125cc Championship. He also hopes to compete in the European Championship as well as further developing his PR / TV and Audio career within the sport.
