Even the second day of practice at Brno was characterized by the summer weather permitting the riders to terminate the two hours of preparation to the race in the best conditions. The Konica Minolta Honda Team rider was able to obtain a definitely lap time improvement in the last morning practice session, reducing his performance of more than one second. During the qualifying practice, Makoto’s feeling became worst and neither the qualifiers brought to a remarkable improvement. Makoto ended up the session in 15th place setting his fastest time in 1’58.239” and covering 43 laps.

“Makoto was not able to express himself with qualifiers. It seems that when the qualifying session arrives all the job done vanishes. I believe that a psychological situation conditions our rider’s performance. At Sachsenring, on Saturday afternoon, it was not so different, while things definitely changed during the race. We could live the same experience, then, we must work to try the latest adjustments during tomorrow morning warm up. It is also necessary to consider the uncertain weather conditions forecasted for tomorrow which could completely change the race situation.”

“This morning, we obtained a remarkable performance improvement in respect to yesterday and today’s afternoon plan was to define the tyres choice between the two best tested this morning. However, the same material did not permitted me to have the same feeling during the qualifying session. The problem was when entering the corners where I was not able to be so efficacious. We must understand the reasons why and try to solve the problem tomorrow morning.”
