The fourth round of the French series has been stopped after the first race, as the rain destroyed the southern track. Seb finished in second position the single race. The fourth round of the MX1 French Elite championship has been disturbed by heavy rain in Gaillac Toulza (near Toulouse), that forced the organizers to cut the track, and then to cancel the second MX1 race and the super final. Second of the single race, Sébastien lost the leadership of the series for one point!

On Monday the track was perfect for the practice sessions, and Sébastien claimed the pole position with a strong advantage: one second over Pichon second, and three seconds faster than the third rider of the session! Unfortunately the rain felt all night long, and on Tuesday morning the track was damaged and forced the organizers to modify the layout. The rain just stopped for the warm-up but came back for the first races.... Starting in the top ten Sébastien came back promptly in second position behind Pichon, reduced the gap but then had to through out his goggles. Without any protection over his eyes it was impossible to come clother, and Seb finished second behind Pichon who leads again the series by a single point.

On this Tuesday 1st of May, Christophe was racing an international event in Tongres (Belgium) where he battled twice with De Dycker. Second of both heats aboard the KX450F, Cri finished the event in second position.

Sébastien Pourcel:

“There’s a long time that we didn’t raced in such difficult conditions. It’s a pitty as on a dry track on Monday I got strong lap times, that’s not so often that you can be one second faster than Mickael Pichon in a qualifying session! On Tuesday morning the track was really difficult, as it stopped raining and the mud was sticky and heavy. It was better for the races as it rained again. I was in seventh or eighth position at the start, and came back pretty soon in second place behind Pichon. But I had to take off my goggles, and with all this mud it was difficult to pass the lapers and to attack Pichon”

Championship Standings:

1. Pichon (KTM), 220 pts
2. Sébastien Pourcel (Kawasaki GPKR), 219
3. Vanni (Honda), 172
4. Renet (Honda), 159
5. Coulon (Honda), 146; etc…
