Micron has announced the launch of a brand new silencer for Honda’s 2007 World Supersport championship winning CBR600RR. It is, the company claims, the world’s first fully-Hydroformed underseat exhaust.
The unit can be fixed directly to the standard header pipes of the CBR or, for a fully Hydroformed system, Micron’s own Serpent pipework. The end cap of the silencer unit also features carbon-fibre trim, another first for Micron.
The new underseat unit offers a weight saving of almost 0.5kg over the standard silencer unit and produces a significant boost in both power and torque output at 7500rpm.
The silencer and connecting pipe unit is available now and will retail through Micron’s dealers at a recommended price of £379.99 including VAT.
"Our ability to Hydroform gives Micron a clear advantage over our competitors when it comes to difficult shapes," says Micron's brand manager, Arthur Macdonald.
"In the case of the CBR," he adds, "we have achieved something that is not only unique and stunning to look at, but that also gives the most significant gains in torque and power right in the mid-range where most riders will feel the benefit."
