LDV Group are joining in the country’s premier motor sport action as the official van supplier to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. The Birmingham based manufacturer are supplying five of their latest, award winning Maxus vehicles for use in the series. They will be used to transport the five tonnes of various track, medical and support equipment needed to operate the championship around the UK and into Ireland for the 13 round championship. On track they will be seen, in the hands of the RACESAFE personnel, as they are used to retrieve the machines of riders who have either fallen or suffered a technical problem.

LDV will also be working closely with the championship organisers in other areas and their involvement as been welcomed by the managing director of Dorna UK, Tony Partis: “We are delighted to have a leading British manufacturer involved with our championship which continues to grow, with record attendances and major ‘live’ terrestrial television across the ITV1 Sport network. The vans they are supplying us with are the latest models and really fit our need in every respect, a major asset to us.”

Tony Lewis, sales and marketing director LDV said: “We have a long history of being involved in sponsoring major UK sporting events and they don’t come any bigger than the British Superbike Championship. The MAXUS vehicles will perfectly match the requirements whether that be in the transportation of vital equipment to and from the venues or working on race days with the RACESAFE personnel. ”

The vehicles will be on official duty as the new season begins at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend of 7-8-9 April, with the double race opening round, in which Ryuichi Kiyonari begins the defends his crown being held on Easter Monday.
