Graves Motorsports Super Moto Champion Mark Burkhart and Lites Champion Brandon Currie will be riding on Saturday in the Fast Track practice and racing, if they desire, in the WERA regional sprints on Sunday. Most likely they will race! They will be each be riding a Graves Motorsports race prepped Yamaha R6.
They will be accompanied by the team Graves Yamaha Road Racing Crew and the team Graves Yamaha Supermoto Crew. This should be very exciting for everyone involved. Brandon has never ridden a RR bike and Mark did 5 laps a few years ago on a friend’s bike at a track day. Let’s see if the pavement skills they have honed in Supermoto aboard their Yamaha YZFs will pay dividends to Road Racing.
On a side note a small list of Graves Motorsports supported riders will be attending the weekend’s events on their new 2008 R6 race bikes. The Graves Yamaha crew members will be there to support them with their settings for the weekend’s events.
The list includes Willow Springs Overall Champion and #1 plate holder Karl Lowry, Amber Rimes the super fast R6 Girl and WERA regional contender, Tommy Aquino the 15 year old rookie sensation and 2007 WERA national 600 Super Bike Champion and Michael Beck tuning up his 2008 Yamaha R6 for a run at the AMA Super Sport Championship on his Graves Motorsports, Simi Valley Cycles sponsored bike.
