Australian riders Troy Herfoss, Adam Cini and Rebecca Bateman conquer the Australian Supermoto Championship. Team Husqvarna Racing are the newly crowned Premier S2 and S1 Unlimited champions and also claimed the Australian's Women's Class title after smashing the field and dominating the hotly contested 2006 Ssangyong Australian Supermoto Championship. The 6th and final round was held at Willowbank, Queensland on Saturday June 24th, 2006.

Weather conditions varied throughout the day and played a massive part to what was about to unfold in a nerve wrecking season finale. Young gun and Premier S2 Class title contender Troy Herfoss was quietly confident going into this final round to wrap up the championship. He out qualified his rivals in the morning sessions and was the only rider to record times in the 1m.03sec mark which was a huge 1.3sec ahead of second fastest qualifier Rodney Taplin, 1.33 seconds ahead of third fastest and team mate Cini and almost 1.5 seconds behind in 4th place biggest title threat, Stuart Bennett.

Supermotard rookie, Cini had to also battle hard in his three, 6 lap races. Cini set up the S1 championship by winning his first race very convincingly in the dry conditions ahead of Angus Reekie 2nd and Graham Cheney 3rd. Wet weather played a part in Race 2. Angus Reekie led the charge off the line, Cini 2nd and Cheney 3rd. Cini dropped a place half way through lap one.

Husky Chix pocket rocket Rebecca Bateman also tasted the spoils of victory today but had already sewn up the Women's Class title after round 5. Bateman with her never say die attitude began the day with a fall in qualifying aggravating her shoulder but went on to race her three 6 lap races. In race 1 Becky dropped her bike just before the dirt section and re-gathered in last spot. She rode her way at blistering pace back into the lead where she held this position over 2nd placed Kris Brenton and Gina Cleaver 3rd. Bateman won her remaining 2 races, once again totally dominating the Women's class and becoming Australia's first Women's Supermoto winner.

And to round off the glory of Supermotard success for Husqvarna, Novice Todd Harding powered his TC250 through 6 rounds and crowned the 2006 Novice champion. Team Husqvarna manager and Husqvarna Importer Paul Feeney added, "This is unbelievably brilliant. All our team riders proved their talents by winning their respective classes. You couldn't ask for any more. Everyone associated with the team has to be congratulated for their efforts and I would like to extend my appreciation for all of our associated sponsors, Motul, Cool Air Racing, Michelin, RK Chains, Ferodo, Excel, JT Sprockets, PDS and M2R Helmets. Without these guys we wouldn't be able to do as well we did."
