German Dominic Lammert continued his domination of Assen by taking pole position for tomorrow’s 10-lap Suzuki European GSX-R Cup race. Lammert finished just over a tenth of a second ahead of his nearest rival Gabor Rizmayer, with Patric Muff third and ‘wild card’ Fabrizio Pirovano fourth.

Dominic Lammert - Pole position 1:45.120

I am really happy to take pole position and everything went very well today for me. We made some changes to the balance of the bike and that was a nice improvement. I feel I have a good set-up for tomorrow and I am confident of a good result. I don’t think we will have any problems with the tyres and they should be pretty much OK until the final stages of the race. Here at Assen it is very important to get a good start because overtaking is not easy. The last thing you want round here is to get held up, so I aim to get a good start and not let that happen.

Conditions: Dry, sunny
