International Motorcycle and Scooter Show moves its dates for 2007 Show

The organisers of the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show today announced that the 2007 Show has been moved to new dates and will now take place between the 22nd November and 2nd December. The Show was originally due to be held from the 25th October – 4th November 2007, however following the announcement of new dates for the 2007 Milan Motorcycle Show (6th – 11th November), the decision was taken to reschedule the NEC Show to avoid any date clash and safeguard its position as one of the key motorcycle events in Europe, whilst allowing every potential exhibitor the option of supporting both events.

The 2007 dates for the EICMA show would have seen the two major events scheduled back to back, making it impossible for many exhibitors to appear in both Birmingham and Milan. It was therefore decided, by the NEC Show organisers to move the Show in order to give all manufacturers, including those based in Italy, the chance to present their new models in the UK. The new dates will mean the Show maintains its position as one of the leading motorcycle exhibitions of the year and will keep it on a level playing field with its European counterparts.

With the new dates, the organisers have also taken the opportunity to give the Show an exciting new format - it will now take place in a new location within the NEC, using the Pavilion through to Hall 4, although the exact size and layout has not yet been determined. Today’s announcement marks an exciting change for the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show which will offer visitors a brand new location, layout and feel, while maintaining its strong interactive focus.

The new dates and location offer us a blank canvas to work from, and in fact give us a chance to ‘re-launch’ the Show which should enable us to produce an even more engaging and exhilarating event for visitors than we did in 2006, while at the same time ensuring the quality of exhibitors and features are maintained. We believe it is extremely important that the Milan show and our own Show exist side by side, giving consumers in both countries the best opportunity to see all of the latest bikes and equipment.”

The 2007 International Motorcycle and Scooter Show will now take place at the Birmingham NEC from 22nd November – 2nd December.
