Qualifier: Personally, I did not expect the standard qualifier to be better than the much loved D208RR I have used for the last few years, but I was pleasantly surprised. Even on the tyre eating R1 it hooks up and drives when you expect it to spin. As with all road based Dunlops it warms up quick and provides great feedback when you approach its limit so you have plenty of warning before things get out of hand. The front tyre is particularly impressive with unexpected levels of grip for a tyre that lasts so long!

GP Racer: This is Dunlops 'Track Day Tyre' offering all the great Dunlop characteristics of feel, feedback etc, yet this one has race track grip aswell! It has the tread pattern of a 208RR but the rubber is a bit more special, and you really notice it when you start to push harder. They inspire confidence and feel more like a race tyre than some race tyres I could mention! In addition they can handle wet weather, cold weather, in fact any conditions you want, making them ideal for a track day rider without spare wheels.

Redline Slicks: The latest sport tyre from Dunlop and aimed at the serious track day rider or club racer who can't afford a 16.5 inch conversion! These are essentially the GP racer without tread, so they do not have the negative characteristics of full on race slicks: dangerous when cold, slow to heat up, must use warmers at all times etc. On the plus side they offer amazing grip and feel (I use feel a lot when talking about Dunlops, you will see what I mean when you use them!) and will last longer than a treaded tyre used under the same conditions. They come in standard sizes so there is no need to adjust geometry, swingarm length or gearing to be able to fit them, just chuck them on and go!

Dates availability: With sell-out schools last month at Kinnekulle, Rockingham and Silverstone, August doesn’t look much quieter for us.
We are at Rudskogen 2nd & 3rd August, followed by Knutstorp and Midlanda (Sweden), Knockhill 16th August and then rounding off the month at Brands Hatch on the 29th August. We have three dates in the UK left after that in September and October at Silverstone Stowe, with the 4th September already SOLD OUT for Level 1 bookings.
