Future West are extremely happy with the inaugural Liverpool British Supercross Event. Crowds flocked into the brand new Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday and Saturday night, 25th and 26th January. Friday’s crowd as expected was half full with a near sell-out on their hands for Saturday’s racing action.

Despite some media reports prior to the event, it was extremely popular and very successful and proved a big hit with all those involved. The fans were supportive and eager to bring the house down supporting all the riders. Friday night saw the very first British Supercross Championship Head to Head competition, which had the crowd on their feet.

Several top British riders were in attendance including US rider and CAS Honda superstar Mike Brown, who rode to convincing wins on Friday and Saturday night in the Pro Open finals. Former British Champion and now ‘Suso’ Suzuki rider Carly Nunn made his Motovision debut and looked great.

Canadian Colton Facciotti, who rode to the win in the Pro Lights on Saturday night as well as King of Canadian Motocross, Jean Sebastien Toy both made impact in their races taking podium places. Rising British Supercross star, PAR Homes Honda rider Ashley Greedy made himself known on Friday night by collecting the cash in the dramatic Head-to-Head. South African MXW Rider Neville Bradshaw also rode exceptional well after his return from injury, gaining three of the main podiums over the two nights.

Not only did the pro's put on a show for the fans the youth and clubman classes also produced some top notch racing. All in all it was a fantastic first trip to Liverpool.

The Supercross also gained spectators from a different sport, with 13 times TT Winner John McGuinness, Ten Kate World Supersport rider Jonathan Rea and HM Plant British Supersport rider Steve Brogan all coming to see how it was done.
