If anyone from local councils, the Police or road safety lobby groups can't figure out why more children and youths are being injured on our roads, then maybe they should consider this nonsense; Breckland council in Norfolk has banned two kids from riding 80cc minibikes, in a field which is owned by their parents.
According to local press, Jade and Daniel Snare, of Gooderstone, are heartbroken after the council banned them from riding off-road under parental supervision.
They told local press: "We have a grass field down Ferry Road and sometimes, on a Sunday, we all go to the field to ride our small motorbikes. Now the council has sent mum and dad letters to say we must not do this any more. We are not doing anything wrong and we are not hurting anyone."
Breckland Council reportedly told the kids' parents that so long as they did not make too much noise, the children could carry on riding, but then the planning department told them to stop, subject to making a formal application to ride their motorcycles on private land.
A Breckland Council spokesman said: "As we have received a complaint from another resident and a formal body, we do have to investigate the matter.
