The Isilon MSS Discovery Kawasaki team and Jack Valentine will part company after the final Bennetts British Superbike race of the season on October 14th.
Since joining the team half-way through the season, Jack has helped the team to meet the challenges of their first season of regular Superbike competition.
The 54-year-old from Oldham will take up a new position as manager of the Rizla Suzuki team in the Bennetts British Superbike championship from November 1st. He will re-locate from his current home to Wimborne, near the Suzuki team’s HQ in Verwood, Dorset.
Nick Morgan, Team Owner
“Jack’s contribution to the team has been massive even despite the short time he’s been with us. His experience and eye for details have helped us massively as we’ve been on a steep learning curve in this, our first year in the Superbike class. As well as us learning off him, I think too that Jack will take something from the ISILON MSS Discovery Kawasaki team as he departs for his new job. So I’d just like to say ‘thanks a lot, Jack,’ we look forward to kicking your backside out on track in 2008 mate!”
Stuart Simmonds, Joint Team Owner
“Jack’s brought a lot to the team in the few months he’s been with us and we’ve learned from his experience. We will now take that forward as a base for our 2008 campaign. Thanks for all your efforts, Jack. But forgive us if we don’t wish you too much success in 2008!”
Jack Valentine, Race Team Manager
“I’ve enjoyed working with the team so very much, it’s just a shame I couldn’t have been with them at the start of the season and full-time! It’s been difficult coming into the team with Michael not being 100% fit and off the back of a difficult two weeks at the TT, but they’ve worked hard to turn things around. At Donington Michael felt comfortable on the bike and I think we’ve really started to achieve something in both Supersport and Superbike. I hope that I’ve left the team with a good base from which to start their 2008 campaign and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. I wish them the best for the future.”
