The Women World Cup will kick off this weekend in Teutschenthal (Germany), home of the opening round of this series borne two years ago in Sweden. Three rounds (Germany, Sweden and The Netherlands) will be organized this season alongside the MX1-MX2 Grand Prix and French rider Livia Lancelot will make her first appearance on a Kawasaki GPKR KX250F. Third of the competition in the last two editions, Livia Lancelot will be racing for the first time of her career in an official team, after two seasons as a privateer. “With three rounds at the calendar this year the World Cup is growing up, and is a great opportunity to professionalize our sport. It’s interesting to see that the first three ladies of the previous editions got now an official support from teams, and for us it’s of course important to be member of a team. I’m convinced that I will be able to make another step with Kawasaki and team GPKR’ explained Livia who was racing so far in her family structure.

Unfortunately the French woman was injured two months ago, as she broke her left collarbone during a practice session. But she’s confident for the upcoming weekend. ‘Due to this injury I wasn’t able to train and prepare this round as expected, I lost more or less one month and a half. Unfortunately I crashed again on my shoulder two weeks ago while practicing, and it was painful again. I lost time again in my preparation, but I think that it will be OK for this event. During two weeks I had medical treatments, including x-ray to recover promptly’ continued the ‘green lady’ who is still determined to win.

“My goal is always the same, to win even if I lost some muscle power in my arm with these injuries. It’s a little bit difficult to keep the same rhythm after fifteen minutes, but even if I didn’t practice as much as expected I think that I have the speed to battle in front. I didn’t do so many tests with the bike so far, but I felt really good on the Kawasaki and I know that the team will provide me a winning bike. Will I be fast enough to be leading the pack? We’ll know more on Saturday evening,” conclude Livia who won the first heat here twelve months ago, and finally equalled Katherine Prumm performance with a second place in the other heat. The Kawasaki Molson rider winner of the 2006 Women World Cup will be once more, with German Stephanie Laier winner in 2005, her main rival in this competition.
