Jardine International, one of the UK’s leading sports marketing and media relations companies, has been appointed by BMW Motorrad UK, the motorcycle division of the BMW Group, to manage both its UK communications programme and its World of BMW activities. The Twickenham-based PR agency has been awarded a three-year contract by BMW Motorrad that will come into effect at the start of February 2007. Jardine International will work closely with the iconic motorcycle brand to promote the entire range of BMW models, products and services.
The agency will also be responsible for the day to day management and promotion of BMW Motorrad’s range of World of BMW experiences, including BMW Tours, Rider Training, and Off-Road activities.
TV broadcaster and Managing Director of Jardine International, Tony Jardine, said: “The BMW brand has undergone a shift in recent years and we are thrilled and excited at the prospect of working with BMW Motorrad to further develop the brand. The agency will be developing and implementing an all-encompassing public and media relations programme that will communicate this brand shift to a wider audience.
“Jardine International has a wealth of motorcycle experience. In addition to working with Yamaha for nine years and Suzuki at GP level for two years, we currently manage the PR programme for Bridgestone in MotoGP. Working with BMW Motorrad is an exciting new opportunity for us and we are eager to get started at the beginning of February.”
The BMW Motorrad account further enhances Jardine International’s client portfolio, which includes brands such as Bridgestone - and their involvement in both MotoGP and Formula One - PlayStation 2, and Silverstone Circuits Limited.
BMW Motorrad’s Marketing Manager Tony Jakeman welcomed the appointment: “We believe the Jardine International agency will spearhead the communication of the new brand philosophy as it expands into new sectors of the motorcycle market in the future. I would also praise the Roger Burnett Partnership agency which, over the past seven years, has done such sterling work to provide a Press & PR service for BMW Motorrad UK as it has transformed the range of motorcycles in recent years.
“RBP will continue to offer a full service to the media through January, until Jardine International takes over on 01 February”.
