Greg Willis has been appointed as the new marketing manager for Harley-Davidson and Buell UK and Ireland, the Oxford-based subsidiary of the world-famous Motor Company. Greg takes over from Allan Brownridge who is set to spearhead the UK arm of the company’s sizeable Parts, Accessories and Motorclothes division and his appointment comes at the end of a very successful period for the iconic motorcycle marque. 2006 was a year that witnessed sales growth of seven per cent, year on year, as well as the launch of a new and significantly enhanced engine and the introduction of exciting new models for both Harley-Davidson and its highly innovative sport brand, Buell.

Formerly the communications manager at Honda UK, Greg brings a wealth of motorcycle industry experience and is eager to build on a significant period of growth for Harley-Davidson.

Following seven consecutive years of record sales, this year saw the American manufacturer consolidate its position as the clear market leader in the custom bike sector – Harley-Davidson motorcycles make up four of the top five newly registered custom models in the UK, with the classically styled Street Bob heading the pack.

Paul Stroud, Harley-Davidson’s UK managing director said:

“We are delighted that Greg has chosen to lead our marketing operations. The Harley-Davidson brand is admired the world over and I know that Greg is very excited to be working with the UK team. The European market is becoming increasingly competitive but one in which our motorcycles are very well received. I am sure that Greg is looking forward to working with our dealers across the country to ensure that even more people share in the Harley-Davidson experience.”

Having spent six and a half years working with Honda, a whole new world of motorcycling is set to open up for Greg.

“The diversity across the range is incredible, from the traditional tourer, through to the exhilarating drag styled V-Rods and the exceptional sportfighter rides offered by Buell. I’ve already had the opportunity to head out on a few of the bikes and it doesn’t take long to appreciate the unique riding sensation that only a Harley-Davidson can provide – and that you really can own the corners with a Buell.”

Harley-Davidson offers a full range of products and services, from learning to ride with its authorised training academy, Rider’s Edge, to competitive insurance and finance on its range of motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson range starts with the Sportster XL883 at £5,195 on the road.
