Press release:
It was a very testing weekend for the Centurion Honda team at round nine of the Fuchs Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Cadwell Park. Young Irishman BJ Toal salvaged 15th place and one sole point for the Centurion Team at one of his least favourite tracks. His team-mate Dan Cooper was involved in an unfortunate incident during the race where he had a collision with another rider who suffered a bike problem and both riders came to grief.

BJ Toal, who is still getting to grips with the Centurion Supersport bike worked hard throughout the weekend on improving his lap times. Struggling during qualifying the Ulsterman could only manage 22nd on the grid leaving himself with a lot of work to do around the 2.1-mile circuit in the 16 lap race.

Dan Cooper was troubled with problems throughout the weekend and struggled during the sessions to get some decent track time. A problem was discovered after the first qualifying session which hindered Cooper's progress and with the second qualifying session being wet he was only able to secure 21st on the grid. With the two Centurion riders having bad qualifying sessions it was going to be an uphill struggle at the technical circuit.

Both riders got good starts and Cooper was through to 15th by the end of the opening lap but his race was rapidly cut short on lap two where he crashed out. A disappointed Cooper said:
"It's just been one of those weekends this weekend where everything has gone wrong from start to finish. We finally got the bike sorted just in time for the race and I knew the only way would be forwards. I got a mega start and had passed a number of riders by the end of the first lap and was now hoping to gain a top ten at the end of the race. I pulled out to pass Peter Ward and found Lee Johnston who'd had a bike problem in the middle of the track, I had no where to go and hit him at a fair rate of knots. Both of us went down and I'm just gutted for myself and the Centurion team and just hope we'll get a bit more luck at Croft!"

BJ Toal got his head down during the race and slowly moved his way through the tough Supersport pack fighting his way into a point scoring position. Toal commented:
"Cadwell is my least favourite track and one I really wasn't looking forward to riding at. I'm really glad it's out the way and I hope to continue to settle in with the Centurion team at the remaining rounds of the Championship. I'm looking forward to Croft and getting a better result as this was a very hard and demanding weekend. Once again the Centurion team have been fantastic and I just hope I can get them some good results towards the end of the year."
