BMW Motorrad has honoured their four-time World and European Stunt Riding Champion, Chris Pfeiffer, by wheeling out a replica of the F 800 R that has helped him achieve world-wide success in the stunt riding arena.
The F 800 R was launched to the UK motorcycling media in May 2009 and received high acclaim for its precise handling, dynamic engine performance and general ease of use. These are all features which have aided motorcycling’s greatest stunt rider in retaining his World and European Stunt titles and entertaining audiences around the globe with his unique acrobatic style.
The bike named the ‘F 800 R Chris Pfeiffer’, closely resembles his stunt machine with its BMW Motorsports paint scheme and special edition Akrapoviæ® muffler. The basic technical characteristics remain unchanged from the standard F 800 R model.

Pfeiffer said:
“The F 800 R is a great bike for stunting. I’m surprised at how little I had to modify one for my shows. The engine is loads of fun - I love its response at low and medium revs, as well as its enormously wide rpm range. It makes it very useable for stunting.
Then there is the perfect throttle response and sensitive controllability of the twin, which is absolutely imperative to be able to perform spectacular tricks.”
Chris Pfeiffer visited the Berlin Spandau plant at the beginning of July 2009 to oversee the start of production of this F 800 R special edition. He even lent a hand, riding the very first BMW ‘F 800 R Chris Pfeiffer’ off the assembly line.
As a small ‘thank-you’ for this first special model bearing his name, the reigning World and European Stunt Riding Champion put on a show for the staff at the BMW Motorrad production plant.
Following his performance Pfeiffer said:
“I am very pleased and proud that there will be a BMW Motorcycle on sale which bears my name. I regard this as both a great honour and a powerful source of motivation. Riding the first machine to bear my signature off the production line really was a unique experience.”
The first bikes are scheduled to arrive in the UK early in 2010 and customers can now place an order at their local BMW Motorrad Dealers.
The price of the BMW ‘F 800 R Chris Pfeiffer’ will be announced on Press Day at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, on 26 November 2009.
