Tyre choice was a determining factor for many of the riders today at the final Donington race which suffered from undecided weather conditions.

Elias was the surprise of the first 3 laps of the as he took the lead and pulled out from the Fiat riders in second and third.
The Ducati bikes seemed to be suffering from a tyre choice as they moved towards the back of the field with the Marlboro team last with 25 laps to go.
In a sudden development, Lorenzo fell victim to damp white lines and came off after nine laps, which handed the lead to Rossi.
Pedrosa and De Puniet battled hard for the 3rd spot, swapping places many times.
With 17 laps to go, Rossi and Dovisioso lapped the two Ducati riders.
Rossi came down losing the lead with 11 laps to go although he quickly managed to get on track back to 11th position.
This left Repsol's Andrea Dovisioso with a giant lead from Randy De Puniet in 2nd.
Dovi's lead gradually diminished and with 3 laps remaining, Colin Edwards was in second with De Puniet just managing to snatch it back.
At the line, Dovi crossed in first place with Edwards and De Puniet in 2nd and 3rd.

250 Race
The race was classified as wet, although shadows on the track and the wind picking up to helped dry the track which brought the full wet tyre choice of into question.
With sixteen laps to go, teams started to change from wets to different types of slick tyres.
Although the 2nd position was swapped a few times, Hiroshi Aoyama lead almost from the beginning of the race and took first place.
All top three riders finished the race on slicks. Great riding from Mattia Pasini who crashed and managed to take third.

125 Race
After a restarted race due to treacherous conditions, there was a 5 lap dash with all riders on full wet tyres.
The leading British rider of the championship, Bradley Smith, lead from the beginning, but slipped out at Coppice Corner leaving Marc Marquez leading until he also came down after pulling out a respectable lead.
At the chequered flag, Julian Simon took first place extending his championship lead by 50 points.
Scott Redding played it safe and picked up a third place.
