Press release:

Riding along open roads at the height of summer can be exhilarating, yet sometimes uncomfortable when faced with the midday heat. BMW Motorrad has the solution with the updated Airflow 4 suit.

The BMW Airflow Rider Equipment range includes: suits, helmets, boots and gloves. The collection has been designed using Motorrad’s innovative AirTex fabric as well as brand new NanoSphere and Coldblack technologies which contribute to keeping the rider cool in hot conditions.

The NanoSphere non-stick coating on this year’s grey Airflow 4, prevents particles of dirt from sticking to the suit. For instance, should a large quantity of dirt come into contact with the material, it can easily be rinsed off without leaving any residue.

Equally, a layer of Coldblack technology on the outer shell of the black suit reflects 80 percent of the sun’s UV rays, keeping the wearer cooler for longer.

The AirTex material used in the suit is made of a resistant, light weight, net-like fabric which allows air to flow freely through it, keeping the rider cool. Equally, it retains the strength required to meet the high safety standards associated with BMW Motorrad’s Rider Equipment range.

For safety purposes, impact areas of the Airflow 4 suit are reinforced with the high-tech, abrasion-resistant material Dynatec which, whilst being tear-resistant and extremely robust, is also light and flexible - perfect for summer riding.

Additional protection for the suit is provided by Motorrad’s adjustable, CE approved, NP protectors. This year the protectors are lighter, in some cases slimmer and the back protector is fitted with small holes to maximise ventilation. The armour can be ‘adjusted to fit’ within the suit, moulding itself around the rider’s body for perfect comfort and safety. Reflective strips have also been added to the suit jacket to assist in rider recognition whilst riding in the dark.
