EMX2
Both EMX2 Qualifying Races were very excited. The winner of the first Qualifying Race was Jeffrey Herlings (Netherlands) from the team JM Racing. He took the lead and Christophe Charlier (France) from the team Gariboldi Racing came near to him. They were riding wheel to wheel. Charlier almost passed him but Herlings held out all his attacks. Third was his teammate Klemen Gercar (Slovenia).
The EMX2 Championship leader Christophe Charlier:
"I took a good start but I finished second. I was fighting with Herlings all the race. The track was slippery and it was impossible to pass him. I hope I will take a good start also tomorrow in both heats and of course I want to win."
Axel Alletru (France) was leading almost the whole second Qualifying Race. His advantage was growing till two laps before the end, when he made a mistake and crashed. Roberto Lombrici (Italy) and Glenn Goldenhoff (Netherlands) passed him and this was the end of his leadership. Lombrici won, Goldenhoff was second and Alletru finished third.
MX3Alex Salvini took the pole in the MX3 Qualifying Practice. Pierre Alexandre Renet (France) was holding te pole position for the long time from the beginning. When the track was getting dry riders were improving their times and Salvini clinched his third following pole. Second was Matevz Irt (Slovenia) and Julien Vanni (France) was third. Tomorrow there will be another strained race as the best riders are always very close.
Alex Salvini:
"The track is fast. There are lot of deep canals and lines, so it was difficult to pass riders. I think the track will be selective tomorrow, but it is not dangerous although there were stones at some parts today. I am content with the time that I made in the Qualifying Practice."
Matevz Irt, who took the second position in the Qualifying Practice said:
"This Qualifying Practice was a kind of a lottery for me. The track was very slippery at the beginning and I was waiting some laps that the track was becoming dry. I made the second fastest time in the last lap when the conditions were much better."
