The story from the first two FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship events is continuing at the third event in Cortelha, Portugal this weekend. Leading riders were dominating for one more time. Julien Vanni (France) was the fastest in the MX3 Qualifying Practice, Christophe Charlier (France) and Ken Roczen (Germany) won the EMX2 Qualifying Races.
FIM MX3 World Championship: The race track is fast, hard and it has many great jumps. The Italian Team MB Honda has amazing results this season. The beginning of the Portugese event was successful. The MX3 Championship leader Julien Vanni took the pole position for the tomorrow's race, while the second rider of the team Matevz Irt (Slovenia) took the second position, with the minimum difference behind his teammate. Both of them are very satisfied with their Honda bikes and with the team, who makes the perfect settings for every track.
Julien Vanni: "I am very satisfied with my time and result. I am glad that my teammate Matevz Irt finished just behind me on the second position. The race track is hard, very fast and I hope I will take two good starts tomorrow. Of course I wish to get the new podium."
Also the Husqvarna rider Alex Salvini (Italy) from the team Husqvarna Factory Tecno B and Finnsco Honda rider Antti Pyrhonen (Finland) were not far away from the first two riders. The difference between them was less than a second. Regarding to the Qualifying times and interesting race track there will be a great event in Cortelha tomorrow.
EMX2 European Championship: There were two Qualifying Races and two winners before the EMX2 European Championship event in Portugal. German Suzuki rider Ken Roczen won the first Qualifying Race.
Ken Roczen: "The race track is similar than it was last year. I like it because I prefer fast tracks. I wish to win tomorrow but I know it will be very difficult. For me this race will be a good training for the GP in Augeda."
Matthias Bellino (France) from the team Gariboldi Racing was second and the KTM rider from the team JM Racing Axel Alletru (France) finished third. His teammate Jeffrey Herlings (Netherlands) almost took the win to the EMX2 Championship leader, Yamaha rider Christophe Charlier (France) in the second Qualifying Race. Charlier was not in front at the beginning. He had to work hard to make a progress and took the pole position. He succeed and Herlings remained without the Qualifying win.
