Press Release:Motorrad Dealerships across the country will be celebrating the official launch of the latest model from BMW Motorrad, when Europe’s largest motorcycle manufacturer unveils the most desirable, distinctive and agile F 800 R on Saturday 09 May 2009.
During the course of ‘The Thrill Seekers Convention’ launch weekend, customers will have the opportunity to book a test ride on the brand new motorcycle – plus the chance to win a copy of stunt rider Chris Pfeiffer’s new DVD. Refreshments and other special offers will also be on offer at selected dealerships in the UK.
This exciting and sporty new roadster, a naked BMW bike in the mid-market segment, has been designed to deliver uncompromising handling, agility and steering precision, as well as maximum riding enjoyment. Alongside the K 1300 R, this is the second BMW roadster to be launched this year.
This latest addition to the BMW Motorrad range comes fitted with a parallel twin engine with 4-valve technology and a capacity of 798 cc - similar to the F 800 S, but with power uprated to 87hp. The parallel twin cylinder engine with its strong pulling power, spontaneous response and low fuel consumption has received rave reviews in the F 800 S and F 800 GS models.
The F 800 R has already gained fame and an outstanding reputation with Chris Pfeiffer, the indoor Stunt Riding World Champion. Pfeiffer pushed this motorcycle to its limits on his way claiming his third consecutive Indoor stunt riding world title earlier this year.
The F 800 R comes in alpine white, white aluminium or orange and is priced at £5,925 on-the road.
