It was a Sidi coloured triumph on the Valkenswaard circuit in Holland. On Sunday April 26th in the GP of Benelux, the 4th test in the motocross World Championship, pilots from the Sidi Sport stables literally dominated the race. The podium of MX1 was covered in Sidi Crossfire boots, which confirm themselves as the ones to beat in off road events. Spain’s Jonathan Barragan took first place, second went to the Italian Antonio Cairoli, and Tanel Leok from Estonia captured the third position.
Although first place eluded him, the star of the show was once again the motocross ace Tony Cairoli. During the race-1 the Sicilian pilot damaged a wheel on his motorcycle as the result of a contact with another bike during the start of the race, but this didn’t stop him from performing an incredible comeback, from 8th place to victory. Cairoli came in first in race-1 and third in race-2, and had to settle for 2nd place in the final standings of the grand prix. This is still an important result that keeps him in a solid lead in the World Championship with 143 points, ahead of the other Sidi pilot Jonathan Barragan, who has 128 points.
